Strategy 2030

WWF Denmark’s 2030 strategy ‘Together for life’ is our shared path forward towards the end of this decade.
Ecosystems are weakening, species are disappearing, and we are approaching several tipping points that risk irreversible change. This is not only a crisis for nature, but a threat to the entire stability, resources and resilience on which human life depends.
WWF’s mission is to create a future in which people live in harmony with nature. To achieve this, we must stop the destruction of nature and set its recovery in motion globally, in Denmark, and in Greenland.
This is our ambition for 2030.
Our Strategy 2030 contains three strategic goals which together aim to turn this ambition into action and create positive change for nature at scale.

Recover nature through on-the-ground solutions at scale
We will bring nature back by protecting and restoring ecosystems in selected biodiversity hotspots around the world, in Denmark, and in Greenland.
By 2030, we aim for large, interconnected natural areas to be in improved condition globally; for more marine ecosystems in Denmark to be on a clear path towards full recovery; and for key Greenlandic ecosystems and species to be managed sustainably.

Reduce Denmark’s footprint on nature
We will reduce the pressure that Danish consumption and production place on ecosystems – both domestically and abroad.
By 2030, we are working to ensure that Denmark has committed to reducing its total footprint on nature. The goal is that Denmark’s footprint must not lead to deforestation or the conversion of natural ecosystems. WWF will continue to work closely with companies to reduce their climate and nature impact throughout their value chains.

Mobilise society for nature
We will mobilise citizens, businesses, decision-makers, and philanthropic foundations to elevate nature as one of society’s top priorities and to increase financial support for nature.
Towards 2030, we are working to ensure that both political decisions and cross-sector actions of a substantial and financial nature are taken to help halt biodiversity loss.
By 2030, key international commitments on climate, nature, and sustainable development are to be achieved: the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
WWF’s strategy ‘Together for life’ aims to contribute to achieving these goals.
The strategy is rooted in WWF’s global Roadmap 2030 – a shared plan that brings together WWF offices in more than 100 countries to reverse nature loss, ensuring that our work forms part of a larger, global effort with a common direction and greater impact.
